      By 2020, we could be feeding insects and algae to pigs, says Mick Hazzledine of Premier Nutrition. At the BPEX Innovation Conference next week, he will present some alternative feed ingredients including insect meal, algae, peas, beans and yeast.

      Mick will analyse the nutritional potential and practicalities of these raw materials and give a verdict on which options pig producers are most likely to be feeding in a few years' time。

　　The potential of plant breeders to help with pig nutrition is also on the agenda. Chris Tapsell of KWS UK Ltd will discuss opportunities to move away from feed crops as commodities and breed crops to add value and benefit for feed producers。

　　植物育種者對豬營養(yǎng)的幫助潛力也被提上日程。英國克里斯塔普塞爾KWS公司討論糧食作物不再作為期貨和育種品種，為飼料生產(chǎn)商增值、增益的機遇。

　　He says: "If suitable relationships can be developed between producers, feed companies and breeders, we can develop the breeding targets together and establish a supply chain where added value is shared appropriately."

　　The conference will showcase the future of pig feeding and data recording and is being held on Tuesday 24 June at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire from 09:45 to 17:00, with lunch and refreshments provided.
